I embarked on a 6 months internship journey at August Pictures Pte. Ltd., working in the production team for both drama and current affairs. It was an eye opening experience and I am extremely thankful to be given this opportunity to fulfil my dream of working in a production team.

​

Throughout my time there, I have fully participated in the pre-production, production and post-production for various projects. I was able to stretch my abilities as an independent leaner and learn from the professionals personnels. My involvement in the production team had broaden my horizon, allowing me to learn and grow in the fastest way possible as I take on multiple roles that pushes me to my limits.

​

I felt accomplished every time I complete a project along with the team and having my name appear in the end credit. I am beyond thankful to have experienced this production journey alongside wonderful colleagues as we work towards a common goal!

《The Search》

This project is part of Mediacorp's series 《Fresh Takes 新登场 2》. From planning to running the production, it took us almost two months to complete filming as we ran as a team of 7. It was not an easy journey as all of us had to take on multiple roles and it has definitely pushed me to work twice or thrice as hard to accomplish our goals. I am very thankful to be working alongside like-minded colleagues, who were also very willing to teach and point out the things that I am still currently lacking. Throughout the production, I had the opportunity to put my skills to test and try new things, thinking of ideas out of the box. This journey has definitely been the biggest takeaway throughout my internship here!​

《Mind's Eye》

This project is my first involvement in a drama production upon interning at the company. It was an eye opener for me as it is the first time that I am officially involved in a shoot as part of the production crew. I was able to see and learn from every individual, where I had to step out of my comfort zone to do things that I normally do not, such as crowd control, being an extra for the show and many more. Talking to our crew and casts during breaks have definitely allow me to gain an insight to this industry where many of them shared stories where I can learn from. This journey has definitely made me a more confident individual and someone who is not afraid of asking questions.

  • Ensure the neatness of the outfits while the actors are acting

  • Coordinate outfits for extra actors

《Hello Singapore》

Working in a informative programme production was a whole new experience for me. We have a relatively smaller team as compared to drama production, where I was able to see how our Producer communicates effectively with the team, as well as how our Cameraman makes his decision on the camera angle and type of lens to use. I was able to get in touch with the equipments more, where I got to have a deeper understanding on the usage and setting up of them. Throughout these productions, I have learnt how such interviews were conducted and how decision making is important in this environment. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be involved in the shoot and the stories we covered were definitely those that have to be heard by many!
