I have been on board the volunteering journey since 2013. In 2014, I joined hands with fellow youths who hold the same values as I do - contributing back to the society, to start up the Taman Jurong Zone E Youth Chapter. The Youth Chapter provides opportunities for youths to be engaged in events where we volunteer ourselves to help out in community events, such as the various festive celebrations in our area. As an EXCO member in 2014, I was able to serve with a bigger responsibility, which gave me a deeper understanding on what it means to be a volunteer.

In 2019, I am honoured to be a part of the Taman Jurong Youth Emcee team, where I got to emcee in both the English and Chinese languages for events such as the Taman Jurong Merdeka Generation Reception. I am also currently part of the Taman Jurong C2E CERT Youths, as well as taking up the role of a Producer for the media team. Putting in the skills I have learnt from school, I am now able to serve the community again, just in a different way.

Being a volunteer, I am extremely thankful to be able to embark on such a meaningful journey. The feeling that I felt every time I see the smiles on others' faces really did reassure me that this is what I want to do, to make an impact on others' life.
